Installation
This is quite possibly one of the easiest truck modifications I have had the pleasure of doing. The side steps bolt directly into factory mounting points, and Ironman 4×4 includes all the necessary hardware. Even if this is your first install, it’s pretty much a breeze.
Tools Required
- 13mm Socket or Wrench
Step 1. Install Mounting Brackets
The mounting plates will be labeled to ensure they are installed with the proper orientation. For easy reference, the Ironman 4×4 logo on the steps is towards the back of the vehicle, and all mount plate brackets face towards the front. Install the mount plate brackets on the side steps with the provided hardware.
Step 2. Position Side Steps
Place the steps on each side of the Tundra. This will be a breeze if you have a partner to help you. If you are by yourself, you can either place jack stands to help hoist the steps high enough or try to muscle it yourself. The steps are not heavy, but they are long and can be awkward to lift yourself.
Step 3. Install Side Steps
The side step mounting holes on the body of your Tundra will have OEM bolts that need to be removed first. Once you’ve removed them, use the provided hardware to install the EDC side steps into those holes.
Repeat on the opposite side of your truck, and you’re done!
